Community Outreach and Development
The UMMA Community Outreach programs are volunteer driven, and focus on bridging the socio-economic gap that exists in Lake County and Chicago-Land.
- UMMA Outreach connects with the elderly by planning group visits to nursing homes.
- We support over a hundred and fifty refugee families each year in Chicago-land by providing care packages, a warm meal, a community welcome and resources to help the refugees in their settlement process.
- We also collaborate with local park districts and motivate youth to contribute and be engaged with civic issues. A park clean up is one of the projects the UMMA center has organized as a way to build communities and bring people together.
